The howls of Fenris echo across the battlefields of Warhammer 40,000: Warpforge! The Great Companies of the Space Wolves are almost here, ready to bring fang and fury to the Allfather’s enemies. Prepare to unleash the fury of the newest faction to join the game, bringing new mechanics, strategies, and the unstoppable fury of the Emperor’s executioners.
The Space Wolves will strike the battlefields of Warpforge on October 23rd, 2 pm UTC. Keep reading to discover what these warriors of legend bring to the battlefield and how to collect them!
The Space Wolves stalk the battlefield
Raised in the death world of Fenris, the Space Wolves are the Emperor’s chosen executioners — a Legion of hunters, warriors and heroes who live and die by fang and steel. They are a chapter of savage grace and primal honour, their howls heralding doom for the foes of Mankind.
When the spawn of Russ takes to the field, the galaxy trembles before their howl. With fangs sharpened by their thirst for glory, each of the Chapter’s warriors is as eager to write their saga in blood and ash as the last, and every battlefield will be a hunting ground for the bearers of Morkai’s fury. Will you lead the hunt or fall before it?
New Warlords
From all the sagas written by champions and heroes of the Space Wolves, three iconic characters will lead their charge into Warpforge:
- Ragnar Blackmane: Supremely confident and always eager to be first into the fray, Wolf Lord Ragnar Blackmane regularly leads his Great Company in devastating planetary invasions.
- Njal Stormcaller: The Space Wolves’ greatest living psyker. He commands the skies as his own, conjuring forth howling gales and icy blizzards to scatter and destroy his foes.
- Logan Grimnar: In contrast to the leaders of other Chapters, Logan Grimnar is a charismatic and likeable figure; He honours all who do battle at his side and all who feast and drink in his halls.
New card mechanics
With the introduction of the Space Wolves, new traits and mechanics also make their way into Warpforge! Get ready to take the upper hand by making use of:
- Hunt Mark: Many Space Wolves effects apply Hunt Marks to enemy troops. When you destroy a troop you marked, your Warlord will heal 1 for each mark that troop had, and your enemy’s Warlord will be dealt 1 damage for each mark that troop had.
- Ferocity: Troops with a Ferocity ability can activate a special action instead of attacking. This action can also be activated in the same turn the troop is deployed. After resolving a Ferocity effect, the troop will return to the deck.
- Pack: Units with Pack receive +1 Melee and +1 Ranged for each other friendly troop in play.
How to start collecting them
Take advantage of pre-release and release-day deals to get extra value when collecting the new faction! The Space Wolves join the game as an entirely new faction, so the new cards will be collectable by similar means to the existing factions.

- The Vault will open its doors again while the Space Wolves release celebration is live! A total of 6 of the new faction’s cards will only be collectable through The Vault before they become widely available 4 weeks after the release.
- A new promo code and Twitch Drops campaign will go live with the faction’s release. Stay tuned!
- After the end of the release event, the new Space Wolves cards will make frequent appearances in the shop. Keep your senses sharp!
Space Wolves Battle Pass
During the 4 weeks following the arrival of the Space Wolves, you will get additional rewards simply by playing the game! The Battle Pass track can be progressed by earning skulls in multiplayer and draft matches. Every week, there will also be new additional missions that reward large amounts of progress, launching your track forward big time or allowing you to catch up before it ends.
With an optional Premium purchase, you will be able to make the most out of your Battle Pass. Premium Pass holders will get Njal Stormcaller as their very first reward, as well as additional rewards as they progress through their track, such as:
- Exclusive cosmetics
- Four of the new cards (including a Legendary), which will remain exclusive to the Battle Pass until 4 weeks after release
- 20% more track progress while this Battle Pass lasts
- Golden avatar frame while this Battle Pass lasts
A Battle Pass can be made Premium in exchange for 2850 gold.
Join the Battle for Warpforge!
‘Battle for Warpforge’ is a 1-week event in which two teams of players will compete to see which can stack the largest mound of Skulls in battle. The first time you log into the game, you will get to choose whether you want to join Team Tactical Tortoise or Team Squidmar. From the 23rd until the 30th of October, you will earn additional rewards by claiming Skulls in the name of your team, including a Random Legendary card! Check out more details here.
These rewards are on top of the regular in-game rewards, The Vault, the Battle Pass and the upcoming Promo Code and Twitch Drops campaign.
