Clad in robes to hide the sins of days long gone, the Dark Angels descend to the battlefields of Warhammer 40,000: Warpforge, ready to perform their duties! The scions of The Lion join the game on December 19th, bringing with them new mechanics, strategies and play patterns to pursue the foes of the Imperium. The Dark Angels join the battle
The Dark Angels were the first of the Emperor’s Space Marine Legions, and in their earliest incarnation fought as the personal army of the Master of Mankind in the dawning years of the Great Crusade and in the dark conflict that followed it. During Horus’ rebellion, the Dark Angels discovered part of their own teetered on the very brink of heresy.
Ever since these long gone days, the Dark Angels have been fighting a war unknown to the rest of the Imperium, pursuing not only those who once betrayed the Imperium but also fighting against the darkest forces that beset it. These warriors, honed in duty and purpose, will stop at nothing to vanquish any threat that dares look at the Emperor’s work.

New Warlords
Having fought the length and breadth of the Imperium and beyond and against every foe that has ever beset Mankind, no shortage of heroes is counted among their lines. Of those, three powerful Warlords will command the scions of The Lion to victory:
- Asmodai: The Dark Angels’ foremost Interrogator-Chaplain and Master of Repentance. His talents for torture and interrogation first made themselves known during the Macharian Heresy.
- Belial: Promoted to Grand Master of the Deathwing after facing none other than Ghazghkull Thraka and, outnumbered thousands to one, stalling the Orks and saving Piscina IV.
- Azrael: Arguably the greatest to ever hold the title of Supreme Grand Master. Deeply committed to his Chapter’s secret agenda, the hunt for the Fallen is never far from his mind.
New card mechanics
With the introduction of the Dark Angels, a big slew of new traits and special cards is also making its way into Warpforge! Get ready to master a new style of play with:
- Teleport: units with this trait trigger an effect when played, but only if the card was drawn during that turn.
- Slay: units with this trait trigger an effect after destroying an enemy in combat and surviving.
- Agenda: units with an Agenda have the option to do an alternative action instead of attacking. These usually grant Quest Progress. What is Quest Progress? Well…
- Quest Progress and Secrets: Many Dark Angels effects grant Quest Progress, a new Resource exclusive to the Dark Angels. Once Quest Progress reaches 3, the counter will be reset and a random Secret will be shuffled into your deck. Secrets are powerful Stratagems that can only be added to your deck in battle. Any exceeding Quest Progress will be carried over.
How to start collecting them
Take advantage of pre-release and release-day deals to get extra value when collecting the new faction! The Dark Angels join the game as an entirely new faction, so the new cards will be collectable by similar means to the existing factions.
- Dark Angels Booster Packs, each including 5 Dark Angels cards, with at least one of them of rare or higher quality.
- All Armies Booster Packs have a chance at yielding Dark Angels cards while opening them.
- Last chance! Get the Premium Campaign at the best price with one of the two time-limited bundles available in the Webshop.
