A new balance update bolsters Ultramar’s finest!

A new season began at the start of this week, and after looking at last season’s data and taking player comments into account, it seemed clear that the Sons of Guilliman were in need of reinforcements to face a new climb up the ladder.

It is still too soon after the release of the Astra Militarum to apply any major change, but this update also aims to decrease the variance of two Warlords talents. These talents could previously generate powerful Legendary cards. Although only a subset of games was affected by this variance, in the end, it led to frustrating game states that we would rather avoid.

ULTRAMARINES

  • Primaris Invader: Health increased from 4 to 5
  • Hellblaster: Health increased from 4 to 5
  • Aggressor Sergeant: Health increased from 5 to 6
  • Pariah Vanguard: Cost lowered from 2 to 1
  • Honour Guard: Ranged attack increased from 3 to 4
  • Primaris Reiver: Health increased from 2 to 3
  • Outrider: Description changed to “Flank. Codex: Gain +1M and +1R this turn.
  • Angels of Death: Cost lowered from 7 to 6
  • Sergeant Telion: Description changed to “Camouflage. Sniper. Codex: Refill 1 Energy.”

ASTRA MILITARUM

  • Commissar Denkler: Health increased from 30 to 35
  • Legendary Commandant (Ursula’s talent): Description changed to “Ephemeral. Choose a non-Legendary Stratagem and add it to your hand. Lower its cost by 1

GOFF ORKS

  • Worst Temper (Boss Zagstruk’s talent): Cost lowered from 2 to 1

GENESTEALER CULTS

  • Brood Prophet (Magus’s talent): Description changed to “Ephemeral. Choose a non-Legendary Troop and add it to your hand. Lower its cost by 1
