Of note: Missing visuals and sounds
Due to an error with the latest version of the game uploaded to all platforms, some card visual effects and many of the new sounds will not be immediately available at the time of release. The Emperor’s Children join the battle
In the theatre of war, they once moved with unmatched grace, sons of a Primarch who sought beauty, order, precision… Perfection. Now, the Emperor’s Children are no longer His. In the pits of betrayal, they found new music in the screams of their enemies, new purpose in the quest for new sensations, and new powers in the gifts of their new master.
The Emperor’s Children join the battlefield as warriors of excess, driven by hubris, jealousy and the thirst for extreme thrill. They fight not for conquest but to express the sublime through suffering and to refine death into an art form. What once were proud Legionnaires are now the sculptors of torment, seeking no throne but the one built on flawless carnage.
New Warlords
From cruel legends carving their path since the Great Crusade to ascended warriors with newfound thirst for the extreme, three powerful Warlords will conduct the Dark Prince’s symphony into battle:
- Lord Kaphrael: Leading the Callous Blades to uncounted victories with towering arrogance, Lord Kaphrael singles out the enemy’s champions, inflicting a gory demise upon his chosen foes.
- Xarahan: Possessed of an infernal arrogance and physical perfection, Xarahan prides itself upon its martial prowess, seeking nothing but to test itself against the greatest champions.
- Lucius the Eternal: A seemingly immortal bladefighter of superlative skill and egregious ego, Lucius has funnelled lifetimes of experience into raising his swordsmanship to supernatural superiority.
New card mechanics
With the introduction of the Emperor’s Children, new traits and special cards also make their way into Warpforge! Get ready to take down your enemies through sheer vice with:
- Ecstasy: units with Ecstasy X will trigger an effect when their Health is lowered to X or less, but only if they still live.
- Cruelty: units with Cruelty abilities will activate an effect when, during your turn, an enemy unit receives damage but is not destroyed.
- Stimulation: units with Stimulation will trigger their ability when they are targeted by a Stratagem.
- Combat Elixirs: some Emperor’s Children cards generate Combat Elixirs, additional Stratagems that will give them an edge in battle and help them trigger their unique mechanics.
How to start collecting them
Take advantage of pre-release and release-day deals to get extra value when collecting the new faction! The Emperor’s Children joins the game as an entirely new faction, so the new cards will be collectable by similar means to the existing factions.
- Emperor’s Children Booster Packs, each including 5 Emperor’s Children cards, with at least one of them of rare or higher quality.
- All Armies Booster Packs have a chance of yielding Emperor’s Children cards while opening them.

- Completing the Emperor’s Children release event missions and Progressing through the Battle Pass will net you Emperor’s Children-themed rewards, such as faction booster packs. This will also be the way to collect 4 of the new faction’s cards until they become widely available at a later date.
- The Vault will open its doors again while the Emperor’s Children release event is live! A total of 6 of the new faction’s cards will only be collectable through The Vault before they become widely available at a later date.

- After the end of the release event, the new Emperor’s Children cards will make frequent appearances in the shop. Keep your eyes peeled!
Emperor’s Children Battle Pass
The Emperor’s Children is accompanied by a Battle Pass, which will let you earn additional rewards the 4 weeks following the Expansion’s release simply by playing the game! Each skull you earn in your multiplayer and draft battles will contribute to progressing the track. Every week, there will also be new additional missions that reward large amounts of progress, launching your track forward big time or allowing you to catch up before it ends.
With an optional Premium purchase, you will be able to make the most out of your Battle Pass. Premium Pass holders will get Xarahan as their very first reward and gain access to additional rewards as they progress through their track, such as exclusive cosmetics and four of the new cards (including a Legendary), which will be exclusive to the Battle Pass until a later date. Also, they will earn 20% more track progress while this Battle Pass lasts. The Premium Pass can be purchased with any of the supported currencies or exchanged in-game for 2850 gold.
